Resolution of our guess image: Hob cutter
Haas Schleifmaschinen: Hub cutter.
A few weeks ago we wanted to know from you what kind of workpiece this is in the sanding blog. As some readers (thanks for participating!) have correctly written, it is a hobbing cutter. An interesting tool that not only looks good, but can also be used to produce extremely dimensionally accurate gears. We are in the AAA accuracy range here, also thanks to the Haas back-grinding unit, with which particularly hard-to-reach areas can be precisely ground.

q1 – q3, raw or made of solid material
Hob cutters for the production of gear toothings and gear worms in gear tooth qualities q1 - q3 can be ground from the solid on our Multigrind® CA or Multigrind® CB grinding machines. Or you can machine pre-milled blanks, which are then hardened. You can grind deep grooves and fine tooth contours in one clamping, regardless of the size of the workpiece.

The back grinder you see here is treated by our Multigrind® Horizon grinding software like its own grinding spindle, including collision monitoring and avoidance.

See you next time. Grinding with attitude!
