Le Bourget and the Benedict's rule "Don't grumble."
It is a good 40 kilometres from Trossingen to Beuron in the Danube Valley, a charming stretch, not only with my motorbike. There in Beuron is the beautiful Archabbey of St. Martin, a popular excursion destination even in my youth. But what does this have to do with Le Bourget, the world's largest aerospace trade fair? Well, one of the rules of Saint Benedict of Nursia is "Don't grumble", the Swabian would say "id maula". I think we should all take this rule to heart more often in these difficult economic times. So simply complain less how bad everything is, but deal with the situation optimistically, constructively and positively. And now we come to Le Bourget. We decided to go to this important fair because we want to talk directly to our customers and potential buyers.
Here at the gates of Paris, we are looking for dialogue with users and, together with companies in the aerospace industry, for grinding processes that help to make the workpieces even better and the unit price competitive. We have been showing this live since last Monday and until next Sunday. On a Multigrind® CB we grind all the geometries of a turbine blade - from the aerodynamic free-form surfaces of the blades to the foot and the connection geometry for fixing to the turbine hub - from the solid material and in just one clamping operation. Our conclusion after 4 days at the trade fair: The effort has paid off, the visitors to our stand are impressed, we have many interesting discussions. After the fair we are planning an application film on the subject of turbines grinding, which will then be shown on our homepage. Please contact me if you are interested in this film. And also write me if you want to focus on constructive thinking instead of "grumbling".
