Grinding as it's written in the book
Meister (2012): Vademecum des Schleifens, Munich.
Hanser-Verlag has published a book with the beautiful title "Vademecum des Schleifens". The book was written by Markus Meister, who has been active in the application and development of grinding tools for more than 30 years. Hanser calls the "Vademecum des Schleifens" a "comprehensive reference book on all topics that are important for mastering this production process". The book has 566 pages, costs 99.00 Euros (ISBN-10: 3-446-42618-4) and can be ordered directly from the publisher.
In the introduction by Markus Meister, I particularly like the first sentence: "Word has got around in the meantime - grinding is and remains the oldest machining method used by mankind". There is nothing to add - although: for us as a manufacturer of grinding machines, grinding is the most technically demanding and most beautiful type of machining. But we are not completely neutral...
Haas Schleifmaschinen: Vademecum des Schleifens already read?
If you don't have time to read the book at the moment, but have a few real nuts to crack when it comes to grinding, then simply contact my colleagues Tim Kern (picture above) or Hubert Reiser (picture below). There are customers of Haas grinding machines who would swear that there is practically nothing that our two application engineers cannot grind to the µm.
