Good care always rewards

At Haas Schleifmaschinen, Retrofit has been an integral part of the company's range of products and services for good reason, and not just since the debate about greater sustainability and resource conservation began. "However, the range of Haas Schleifmaschinen products goes far beyond the actual understanding of the term Retrofit," says Steffen Schmidt, who is responsible for the Retrofit department at Haas Schleifmaschinen.

Customer requirements are also the focus of Retrofit

Retrofit is composed of the Latin term for backwards "retro" and the English "fit" and describes the modernisation of machines. Older existing machines are therefore not disposed of, but brought up to the current technical standard and can thus remain in production. In order to keep the machine in the machine park, individual components of older machines are usually replaced, expanded or modified. Such a procedure, explains Steffen Schmidt, at best allows the obvious advantages such as extended service life, conservation of resources and energy savings to be achieved.

"Since we at Haas Schleifmaschinen often supply turnkey solutions with our Multigrind® grinding machines, we are also able to do this in the Retrofit sector. Based on the needs of our customers and their production environment, we develop a coherent overall concept that helps our customers to move forward," says Steffen Schmidt.

The investment in a Multigrind® grinding machine is an investment in the future

With our smart overall concepts, not only the lifecycle of the machine can be extended. Since we deliberately also take care of the success-critical issues of automation, control and software during Retrofit, our customers can look forward to higher performance, more flexibility with regard to the workpieces to be ground and higher productivity at lower manufacturing costs, depending on the extent of the modifications. In this context, the cost savings compared to the purchase of a new machine cannot be denied. Furthermore, Schmidt continues, the use of state-of-the-art technology reduces the probability of machine failure. Nor do the machine operators need any additional training, as they are already familiar with their Multigrind® machine.

Not only existing customers benefit from the holistic approach in the Retrofit sector

Haas Schleifmaschinen has always tried to equip its customers for their challenges, to help them advance and to offer them a certain amount of investment security. " Not only our existing customers benefit from this, but also new customers," says Steffen Schmidt. "If our existing customers buy new Multigrind® grinding machines because, for example, their capacity or production range changes, we take the old machine in part exchange". This also opens the way for new customers to get a completely overhauled used machine without having to forego the service and benefits of a new purchase. In this respect, completely overhauled used machines are particularly suitable for quickly coping with production bottlenecks, as they are normally available promptly and are therefore ready for operation more quickly.

As in general, Steffen Schmidt and his team keep some grinding machines from the Multigrind® series to meet the demand for overhauled used machines.

Up to date, requests can be processed on the basis of a Multigrind® HT, a Multigrind® AF and a Multigrind® CU as well as a Multigrind® CB.

Solution thinking in all areas: Individual and bank-independent financing

In addition to the implementation of turnkey solutions, Haas Schleifmaschinen, together with Siemens Financial Services, also provides individual and bank-independent financing. This allows you to calculate with fixed installments instead of a one-time high investment sum. In this way, you also save your liquidity when buying a reconditioned used machine from Haas Schleifmaschinen.

Steffen Schmidt and his team look forward to your request.
