GrindTec 2018

As a manufacturer of grinding machines, we are already looking forward to the highlight of the year: GrindTec 2018 will take place in about two months from 14 to 17 March. It is the world's most important trade fair for grinding technology. And as you would expect from a leading trade fair, there will be plenty of innovations in all aspects of grinding technology on show - also at the trade fair stand in Hall 7, Stand 7001. Will we be seeing flying grinding machines for the first time in Augsburg? We don't think so.

Flying cars

On the other hand, a lot of people already believe that we will fly with our cars in the future. How else could it be explained that the Chinese Volvo mother Zhejiang Geely bought the Boston start-up Terrafugia a few months ago? People there are working on the flying car for everyone. The first flying vehicles are to be delivered in 2019. It still sounds more like the script of a new Hollywood film, but who knows?! We are curious.

Tourists in space

We are just as curious as to whether the first space tourist will launch into orbit this year. Tesla founder Elon Musk has announced this - to bring two space tourists into moon orbit at the end of this year. An ambitious project. But Musk is well known for his visions and his boundless ambition, and hasn't the man with his Tesla electric car been driving the entire automobile industry around the world? VW alone wants to invest 50 billion euros in electric mobility over the next 12 years, as the Süddeutsche Zeitung reported. What you can expect from Haas this year in terms of innovations in grinding technology (Multigrind® grinding machines and Multigrind® Horizon grinding software), we will inform you about in the next few weeks, among other things here in the grinding blog and of course at GrindTec 2018.
