Clarified: The cradle of art lies in the model country
If the Swabians were the first cultural people of mankind, the Cincinnati-born archaeologist and Tübingen professor Nicholas Conard asks himself about the sensational discovery of the Venus of Schelklingen. The female figure, carved from the ivory of a mammoth, was found in September 2008 during excavations in the Hohle Fels cave near Schelklingen in the Alb-Donau district and was presented to the public for the first time. The figurine is only 60 mm in size and between 30,000 and 40,000 years old. It's amazing how filigree our ancestors worked back then, real artists and inventors. What I'm still wondering now, despite all the joy, is whether you could grind such a figure on a Haas Multigrind®? It would depend on a try. And if you want to know more about how the Swabians lived in the Stone Age, I recommend the Rulaman, a story from the time of the cavemen. In the past, it was compulsory reading in primary school.
