Lead screw

  • Lead screw

Lead screws are machine elements in a helical gear unit. In the helical gear unit, the threaded spindles serve together with other elements to convert a rotating motion into a translatory motion. A lead screw consists of a threaded rod and, in the simplest case, a trapezoidal or flat thread. Threaded spindles are sometimes also referred to as motion screws.
