Compensating shafts

  • Motors and gearboxes
  • Compensating shafts

Compensating shafts are used to reduce and/or remedy free mass forces in the piston engine and to counteract operating noise and vibrations. Imbalances, which produce the mass forces and counteract those of the ball drive, are fitted on the compensating shafts for this purpose. The synchronous drive for compensating shafts across the crankshaft is delivered by gears, chains or timing belts.
