Broaches are oblong, slightly conical broaching tools for broaching inner spaces. The contour of the shape to be broached matches the cross-section of the broach. Round contours are used to broach internal diameters, for example, while right-angled contours are used to broach flutes, for example. Broaching can also be used to produce internal teething if an appropriate contour is used.
