When will we finally be there?
When will we finally be there?
Probably no question will be asked more often in the coming weeks of vacation. And I'm glad that the experts at ESA with their fascinating Rosetta mission feel the same way, as the nice film up there shows. The ESA writes about this mission: "The ESA comet probe Rosetta, launched on March 2, 2004 with an Ariane 5 from the European space port of Kourou, is to be the first spacecraft to be brought into orbit around a comet in August 2014, and the lander Philae is to be placed on it in November 2014." If everything works out as planned, Rosetta will have been on the road for about 10 years. That's enough to make you wonder about the arrival time, isn't it?
We wish Rosetta continued good travels and congratulate her on this fine example of appealing science communication.
