Grinding 4.0: Are you in?

EMO 2017 in Hanover is all about Industry 4.0. "Connecting systems for intelligent production" is the somewhat vague motto in Hanover. What exactly does this mean? The point is that, in a fully digitalised production process, IT and software components are connected to mechanical and electronic parts via a data infrastructure (Internet/Intranet). Sounds good - but only works, you can guess when software systems with open interfaces are in use.

Multigrind^® Horizon, the compatible grinding software

The Multigrind® Horizon grinding software, which is supplied with our Multigrind® grinding machines, is open-interface. It offers our customers in the industry 4.0 environment maximum flexibility and compatibility and is very user-friendly. Whether you need to grind a VHM milling cutter today and a form cutting plate tomorrow, Multigrind® Horizon has the right software modules and communicates with our grinding machines and automation units without friction losses.

Intelligent production unit

Of course, our grinding software also comes with the new, large tool magazine, which offers space for up to 70 grinding wheels and 20 coolant guards. This enables our users to turn their grinding centre into an intelligent, self-sufficient production unit. Our customers from the aerospace industry, to name just one example, manufacture complete part families and multiple products with minimum set-up costs and maximum dimensional accuracy and productivity.
